Acetylene is one of the important raw materials for organic synthesis. It is also a monomer for synthetic rubber, synthetic fibers and plastics, and is also used for oxyacetylene welding and cutting.
Pure acetylene is a flammable and toxic gas with a colorless, aromatic odor. The melting point (118.656kPa) is -80.8°C, the boiling point is -84°C, and the relative density is 0.6208 (-82/4°C). Acetylene is active and can undergo addition and polymerization reactions. It can burn at high temperature (3500 ° C) and strong light in oxygen.

Although 4N electronic grade acetylene has a much higher purity than industrial acetylene, its fundamental hazardous characteristics remain unchanged. It is still a highly flammable and explosive gas, with an explosion limit in air of 2.3%–72.3% (by volume). Therefore, strict adherence to operating procedures for flammable and explosive gases is required during use, including explosion-proof, fire-prevention, and anti-static measures. All products provided by Jinhong Gas are accompanied by detailed Safety Data Sheets (SDS), which must be carefully read before use.
To ensure that product purity is not compromised, it is recommended to use a dedicated electronic specialty gas delivery system, including ultra-clean pipelines, specialized pressure regulators, and flow controllers. The operating environment should be kept clean, avoiding the introduction of contaminants such as dust and oil. Operators must receive professional training and be familiar with the properties and handling procedures of electronic specialty gases.
During transportation, cylinders should be protected from strong vibration and high temperatures. They must be stored in a cool, well-ventilated location, away from heat sources, open flames, flammable materials, and oxidizers. The storage area should also be equipped with appropriate emergency leak-handling equipment.
